How to uninstall Trend Micro PC-cillin Internet Security 14 or 14.7 for Dell

Problem Description

This article shows you how to remove your Trend Micro PC-cillin Internet Security 14 or 14.7 for Dell completely. 
 
The steps below also applies if you have forgotten the password for your program.

Solution

Please follow the steps below to uninstall your program:

 

1.

Click your Windows operating system below for instructions on how to download the Trend Micro Diagnostic Toolkit:

 

 

 

·

Windows XP

 

 

 

 

·

Windows Vista and Windows 7 (32-bit)

 

 

 

 

·

Windows Vista and Windows 7 (64-bit)

 

 

 

 

Note: Check first, if your Windows Vista or Window 7 version is 32-bit or 64-bit.

 

 

2.

Click the [E] Uninstall tab.

 

 

3.

Click 4. Uninstall.

 

 

4.

Click Uninstall when you are asked to confirm the uninstallation.

 

 

5.

Wait while the tool uninstalls your program. This may take a few minutes.

 

 

6.

Click Yes when you are prompted to restart your computer.

 

 

 

The program should be uninstalled after restarting.

 

 

 

 

If you still have issues or you are getting error messages when uninstalling, try to manually remove your program. You can do this by following the steps below:

 

 

1.

Open the Registry Editor. You can do this by doing either of the following:

For Windows XP:

 

 

 

 

 

a.

Go to Start > Run.

 

 

 

 

 

 

b.

Type "regedit" in the Open field, then press Enter.

 

 

 

 

 

·

For Windows Vista and Windows 7

 

 

 

 

 

 

a.

Click the Windows Orb.

 

 

 

 

 

 

b.

Type "regedit" in the Start Search field, then press Enter.

 

 

 

 

Important: Editing your computer's registry can cause serious errors on your computer. Always create a backup before making any changes. If you need assistance, you can view the Help file by clicking Help > Help Topics on the Registry Editor window. You can also contact Trend Micro Technical Support.

 

 

2.

Look for HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, then expand it by clicking the [+] symbol beside it.

 

 

3.

Expand SOFTWARE by clicking the [+] symbol beside it.

 

 

4.

Delete the TrendMicro folder under SOFTWARE by right-clicking the folder, then selecting Delete.

 

 

5.

Close the Registry Editor window, then restart your computer.

 

 

6.

Run the Trend Micro Diagnostic Toolkit again to remove remnants.
