Find the information you need!
To use the Trend Micro Knowledge Base search, type in a few descriptive words in the search field and click Find. Below are some tips to help you get relevant search results:
- Use the auto-complete suggestions.
KB provides search suggestions for most of your searches. These suggested searches show the best possible solution article for your search.

- Use keywords that describe your issue.
Include keywords and key phrases that describe the issue you encountered or that appear on your computer screen or product console. Remove unnecessary words from your search query like “how” and “to”.
Example: “error after installation”, “scheduled update stops”
- Use the exact error message or error code for your search.
Example: “error code 7”, “at least one exchange server is outdated”
- Refine your search.
Use the product and version filters on the search results page to narrow down your search to results for your product only.

You can also use the Source Filters to get results from different sources:

- Use Advanced Search to improve search results for your search.
The following table shows how the Advanced Search fields return results:

Documents containing at least one keyword from your search query |

- Use the Virus Encyclopedia filter.
If searching for specific malware/virus information, narrow down your search results to show malware/virus information only by selecting the Virus Encyclopedia checkbox filter.

- Preview search results.
Move your mouse over the titles in the search results to get a preview of the solutions.

- Watch out for typos in your search.
Always check your spelling and use the Did you mean suggestions that suggest correct spellings.
Important: Do not use your serial number or support case numbers for search. Technical, sales, product-related issues and other general questions typed in the search box will not be answered here. You may file a case for these concerns.
