What is a Golden Key?

A golden key is a new registration implementation wherein a single license is only needed to activate all Trend Micro product bundles. This key can be used to register the following products:
  • Trend Micro Titanium 2013 and 2014 (Windows)
  • Trend Micro Titanium Internet Security (MAC)
  • Trend Micro Mobile Security (Android)
  • Trend Micro Mobile Security (iOS)

How does it work?

Trend Micro Titanium 2013 and 2014 (Windows), Trend Micro Titanium Internet Security for Mac 2013 and 2014 (Macintosh) and Trend Micro Mobile Security (Android) will share the allowable seats on your license. This means that seat count is no longer associated with the “users” of the computer/device but covers the registered “devices” itself.
One license/serial number can be registered to a certain number of devices depending on the number of seats your license allows and the Titanium product that you have.
For more information about the new license registration and the programs that the license can activate, refer on the following table:

How can I get a Golden Key?

For New Users:
After purchasing Trend Micro Titanium 2013 or 2014, your serial/license number will also be your Golden Key.
For Existing Customers:
After the renewal/upgrade to Titanium 2014, your existing serial/license number will be automatically converted to a Golden Key.
One license/serial number can be registered to a certain number of devices depending on the number of seats your license allows.

How will it affect my current license/subscription?

After the registration of your Titanium 2014 program, your license will be automatically converted to a Golden Key. If you have purchased the 3 seat license, this will give you the ability to register three Trend Micro products or three devices. Also, there will be no changes on the subscription’s expiration date. It will remain as it is.

Will I be able to go back to my previous Trend Micro product, after my license is converted to a Golden key?

Yes you will be able to downgrade to the lower versions of the Trend Micro Titanium program. However, once your license was converted to a Golden Key, it will remain as it is.

What will happen if my license is already registered to 3 computers and I have also activated my Trend Micro Smart Surfing for Mac/Trend Micro Mobile Security?

You will be receiving an overseat message, “Too many Installations”. This means that you will have to select which devices will be protected. Otherwise, you will have to purchase another license to cover your other computers.
